I know we're still in September and that Christmas cards are in the shops already, but I thought I would post a couple of ideas to help save some pennies at Xmas.
1. Chocolate Tree Decorations
Simply melt a large bar of your favourite chocolate and then pour out thinly onto a board or similar. When cool and set, cut into shapes and wrap in tin foil, and then place a xmas sticker on the front, like the ones used as pretend stamps for cards... attach a bit of cotton and hang on your tree. A lot cheaper than the ones you buy in the shops.
2. Crackers
Make your own from old kitchen roll and toilet roll tubes. I usually stuff mine with a few sweeties and use old christmas wrapper for the outers.
Has anyone else got any ideas?

Love the chocolate decorations idea!
I save all my old christmas cards and use them the following year to make gift tags.

| You have to be careful with this one... but I save old light bulbs, dab glue all over and then sprinkle on some glitter. Attach a piece of cotton in a loop for hanging - and there you have it - a nice christmas bauble for your tree!

I bring in the tree
That I had 3 years ago that was bought in a pot very small at the time.
I have potted it up each year and I leave it in the garden all year and then in it comes for christmas.
Its now 4 feet tall good enough for us and we do not have to shredd it after christmas just pot it up again.

Well a bigger pot and fresh compost is looking after mine so far but will keep an eye on it and yes it will be planted out soon .
At least it has not been chopped down just to decorate my house .
I have 4 christmas trees on the land now all made it to 5ft before I planted them out .
