Hope you like this one too :D

Temperature: Gas mark 5, 190oC, 375oF

Serves:4

Cooking Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 225g (8oz) back bacon, roughly chopped
  • 450g (1lb) shortcrust pastry
  • 1 medium onion
  • 225g (8 oz) cooking apples, peeled, cored and roughly chopped
  • 1 tblsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 150ml (1/4 pint) medium-dry cider
  • 1 eggs, to glaze

    Method:

Pre-heat the oven. combine the bacon, onion and apples in a 600ml (1pint) pie dish. Add the parsley to a little flour along with the cider, a little at a time, then pour into the pie dish.

Roll out the pastry and place on top of the pie, flute round the edge to seal. Brush the pastry with egg and bake until the pastry is golden.

I found this recipe on the Wiltshire Village Meats web site a while back.
