Hi everyone, just found the site on google and thought I would drop in!
We have a smallholding of rare breed pigs in dept 50 Manche. Tamworths, Saddlebacks, GOS, Vietnamese Potbellies, Kune Kune's and Mangalitza Swallowbellies and soon to be adding a French Bayuex.
We are very dedicated to promoting these beautiful pigs here in France and particularly the Mangalitzas which the French find facinating because of their curly coats. They call them Chien cochoc (dog pig). We are very few in numbers as Mangalitza owners, and with that in mind we have created a forum for Mangalitza owners and enthusiasts - http://www.mangalitzafr.forumotion.net
We would really like to be part of the larger mangalitza community out there in the big wide world.
Our rare breeds have become quite an attraction with the French, since they are not used to seeing free range pigs in their countryside. The pigs here are reared intensively indoors and are white. The different colours of our pigs, and the fact that they are so friendly and tactile really stirs up their interest so much so that we are working towards opening up to the public next year.
We also have other animals here - Ouessant sheep, goats, ducks and geese, chickens for eating/laying, and fancies to look at and enjoy. I have a trio of quail, and a heep of cats and dogs.
It is hard work but very enjoyable, and we love it!

Welcome to the forums.
When you have a mo, you'll have to post some piccies of your lovely piggies, so that we can all have a look at them
Good luck too with your forums!

We have a website - I hope it is ok to post it - it does have some pics on there, although we do need to update them.
I took some pics recently, but MOH has mislaid the cable to connect the camera to the computer to download them. Men!

Thanks and I do love the site!

Hi Kate
Of course I don't mind you putting a link to your website - I'm just as nosey as everyone else!
Looks like that pig actually posed for the picture on the home page of your site - love it.
If you would like to put a link from your site to the forums that would be great. You can even download our new smallholders widget for your - you'll find it in the right-hand column of the site (home page and main category pages). Obviously I don't mind if you don't want to, but feel free to if you wish.
