Firstly, hi Anita, Mark & all. This all looks right up my street!! & will no doubt, be of help to me in the future, and maybe vise-versa! A quick line about myself. I'm a country lad through and through, have always been Very much an outdoor person but have spent most of my working life INdoors, but NOT through choice might i add. However, recently i have spent much more time outdoors. I am currently enduring a mid-life crisis & have 2 acres of land at my disposal. The land is on a slight south-facing slope, is sheltered mainly on the west side, the soil is sandy. I have been searching for advice on which crop & how to BEST utilise this land (more from a profitable point of view to begin with, than a self sufficiency one). Any help and advice will be gratefully received. Many thanks.

Hi CountryJoe

Welcome to the forums. Hope you become a regular visitor!

Personally, I know nothing about sandy soil - but hopefully somebody out there will pop in and offer some advice.

In the meantime I'll have a mooch on the Net and see if I can come up with anything.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to add them.
